There are many different types of asthma. Allergic asthma , non-allergic asthma, exercise induced bronchoconstriction are types of asthma. Another type is called eosinophilic asthma. Sometimes called e-asthma for short. This type of asthma is caused by high levels of white blood cells called eosinophils in the airways of the lungs. It is estimated that more than 27 million people in the US have asthma, and 10% have asthma that is poorly controlled and severe. Many of them have eosinophilic asthma.
You may be candidate for a research study if you have been diagnosed with asthma. There is no cost to you or your health insurance. When you qualify to participate, you are compensated for time and travel.
